1. Americana Estates Subdivision: This construction management assignment began with appropriate analysis and budgeting for complete site development and construction of a gated subdivision adjacent to the Bolingbrook Golf Course. Construction management services provided both logistical advice and cost estimates to meet Village budget & funding constraints. The work performed under ZCORP construction
management services transformed nearly a hundred acres of empty fields into a fully developed subdivision. The completed work included all underground utilities (including cable TV and telephone), paved, curbed & guttered streets, ponds, fountains, a three hundred foot pedestrian & golf bart bridge, decorative street lights, a gatehouse,
landscaping, and more.
2. Route 53 storm sewer: This project included installation of a fifty-four inch concrete storm pipe and related structures to close up deep drainage trenches along the extremely busy Route 53 corridor in Bolingbrook. The completed work provided a safer on-grade surface between Route 53 and the very busy commercial properties adjacent to it, while also providing an attractive landscaped environment in front of the retailers on Route 53.
3. Oxford Road Drainage Improvements: This project provided better drainage in a neighborhood historically plagued by standing water and flooded basements. The work included installing a new storm drainage system adjacent to the street that drained into a neighboring retention pond. The new storm water piping was then connected to drainage tile, installed in backyards, that flowed to catch basins and structures.
4. Delaware Drive Forced Main Project: A mile and half of sanitary sewer system was installed in the street through existing neighborhoods. The first portion of this system is thirty-six inch steel pipe under pressure (forced main) that, after boring under a four lane
highway, is transitioned into a twenty four inch pipe system that flowed through gravity. The system then flows through a pipe that was installed by auguring under a river to meet its connection point at the pump station.
5. Drain & Rebuild Retention Ponds: Carlson pond is one of three ponds that ZCORP drained cleaned, excavated, reshaped and graded for new design capacity. The ponds were landscaped and then re-commissioned. Deeper water areas were provided for
recreational fishing.
6. CTA Bus Garage at Chicago & Pulaski Streets - Chicago: This seven-acre structure and adjacent service facility provides service and storage for over 250 buses. The garage & facility required over 200,000 cubic yards of cut & fill to balance the site. The roadways necessary to allow efficient bus movement through the site required nearly three miles of curb and two miles of roads. The completed facility has its own salt dome, and its double grid electrical system allows for constant service for CTA buses.
7. CTA Train Station - Wilmette: This project includes a new train station and inspection facility at the end of the CTA train route in Wilmette. A turn around tunnel that was
constructed required removal and replacement of CTA track for route reconfiguration. Construction was successfully coordinated around the constant third rail hazard. The completed facility is clad with brick masonry and beautifully landscaped.
8. Tinley Park Metra Station: ZCORP is currently constructing a new Tinley Park Metra Station. The project plan includes a new pedestrian tunnel constructed under two sets of train rails. This timber and brick masonry style building will be completed over the next several months. The pedestrian tunnel is to open after the station is completed.
